Scotia Bank - Springer Group

The Springer Group requested a memorial plaque to honor the history of the new Scotia Bank location in downtown Kingston, an area renowned for its historic limestone architecture. Given the significance of the location, I wanted to ensure the design reflected both the building’s heritage and modernity. After considering various options, I chose a second-surface mounted print on a glass panel, complemented by polished copper accents. This material choice not only added a touch of elegance but also ensured the plaque’s longevity and durability.

The finished piece integrates seamlessly with the limestone backdrop, adding a contemporary yet respectful nod to the rich history of the area. The glass panel creates a clean, modern look, while the polished copper provides a warm contrast that enhances the surrounding architecture. The final result is a memorial plaque that pays tribute to the location’s past while complementing its current environment, making it both visually striking and historically meaningful.
